Snow!

Yes, I'm acting like a kid from a tropical country who spent her life under a rock.

The Year in a nutshell

It's been a fun ride. I was asked to make a collage of my 10 favorite outfits this year along with the items (some items are not listed because I couldn't remember where I got them from, probably some random thrift store in a sketchy alley in South East Asia). So here they are, thrown together in a melting pot entry. I'm currently sick as an amputated reindeer so I won't be writing anything. Maybe I will when I feel better.

Happy holidays.

Too young for fashion?

It all started with the photo above. The young fashionista, if you can call her one, seemed more inflicted by the weight of her clothes than the glowing pride of a sartorial child. Which got me thinking, is there such a thing as being too young for fashion?

No, and yes.

D'hiver

I love Boston winter and its ruthless breeze. There is a certain melodious gloom in the monochromatic scheme of Back Bay town houses that goes amazingly well with the rows of naked trees against the cold concrete pavement. I experienced my first snow storm during the final exam of my freshman fall of college. Back then it felt like a nightmare fighting the slapping wind on my way back to the dorm.

Fast forward to now, this fall semester ended 3 days ago without the tiniest glimpse of snow. To celebrate the end of a grueling semester of architorture, I went out for dinner at the Oak Room and then to see the Nut Cracker Ballet at Boston Opera House. Shown below is the outfit I had for that night. The crimson color paired with the pearl encrusted collar really brings out the festivity of the season. Happy Holidays, everyone.

Express Sushi

Spicy tuna tartare on rice-cake

Today I went to Whole Foods and found a piece of beautiful sushi-grade tuna that has a radiant reddish sheen to it. So I decided to whip up a quick healthy appetizer/light lunch using the tuna and some home ingredients.
